At Simbavati Hilltop Lodge you can enjoy magnificent views of the bush, the Nhlaralumi River and the distant foothills of the Drakensberg MountainRange from the vantage point of the beautiful small koppie on which the lodge is situated.

Accommodation is pure African safari, and comprises of individual pavilion-style luxury tents, arranged to create a unique village feel. Each suite comprises two individual tents – one for the main bedroom, and a separate bathroom, which is linked by a passage that can be opened up on one side – allowing for an indoor or private outdoor shower experience. Privacy is guaranteed thanks to the careful placement of the tented-suites, ensuring a tranquil and intimate stay.

Some of the private suites are situated to avail of the breathtaking views, and are therefore accessible via steep stairs. For the mobility impaired, please ensure that you stipulate your needs when booking.

Perched atop a small mountain pass known as a koppie in South Africa, the location offers views of the Nhlaralumi River and the far-off slopes of the Drakensberg Mountain Range. Welcomed with a glass of handmade lemonade, host Lelanie offers a modern, wood-constructed safari camp that resembles a hamlet and has four-star amenities. After a day of observing wildlife, unwind under the breathtaking African sky at the 360° bar.
Simbavati Hilltop Lodge's chic yet cosy tents are dispersed throughout the summit of the mountain. Excellent planning and design that provides plenty of privacy for each tent. Nothing stands in the way of an intimate affair with African nature, as the soft interior appears to melt into the surrounding jungle. Every opulent tent has a plush king-size bed, a contemporary en suite bathroom with a bathtub and an outdoor and indoor shower, making for a memorable morning wash while listening to the sounds of waking nature. Insect repellent, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a safe, hair dryer, laundry service, and eco-friendly, biodegradable shower products are all available. An electric blanket will keep you toasty throughout the winter.
The bush that is home to hundreds of bird species, the Big Five, white lions, wild dogs, zebras, giraffes, and many other animals.
Simbavati Hilltop Lodge welcomes children twelve years and older. Children younger than sixteen have to share a room with an adult.

    Simbavati Hilltop was perfect in all ways, no kids running around and the food was great. Our luxury tent was really nice and we saw a giraffe being born. I didn't think much of the Timbavati but I will surely visit again.
