The opulent Rockfig Safari Lodge was designed to complement and blend with its breathtaking Timbavati environment. The tasteful transition between indoor and outdoor designer areas creates a laid-back atmosphere, while the exquisite furnishings, art, and décor provide a sense of authenticity to both private and communal occasions. There are just six suites with views, individual verandahs, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Spend a winter's evening telling safari tales in the living room next to the fireplace.

The open-plan kitchen is where meals are prepared, with a focus on locally grown vegetables, so visitors can observe the action and even pick up some cooking advice. There's a communal table for dining, a cosy boma by a crackling fire, or your own private verandah for a quiet dinner for two. When not searching for the creatures that call this Big 5 reserve home on game drives and bush walks, unwind by the pool with a view of the waterhole or indulge in a spa treatment.

Children of all ages are welcome at Rockfig Safari Lodge, making it an incredibly family-friendly safari destination (walking safaris are not permitted for those under fourteen). Four people can stay in a room together as two adults and two kids, one adult and three kids, or four adults and four kids. If a room has three people, a single bed will be utilised; if there are four guests in a room, a set of bunk beds will be used. In addition, families and groups consisting of four or more people will be given a vehicle for exclusive usage.

The Rockfig Safari Lodge in Timbavati offers thrilling safari adventures. One of the most iconic experiences in Timbavati is a game drive (vehicle safari), and the field guides and trackers at Rockfig take great satisfaction in offering memorable, up-close, yet secure wildlife encounters. The Big Five call Timbavati home, and since many of the trackers were born and raised here, they can use all of their local knowledge to guarantee the finest potential sightings of wildlife. Of course, going on a safari offers more than just the opportunity to see wildlife; it also allows you to take in the breathtaking scenery of the South African bushveld as you travel through it.

Children of all ages are welcome at Rockfig Safari Lodge. Children under 14 will be allowed on walking safaris. Children 0 - 5 years old: free of charge when sharing with 2 or 1 full paying adult/s. One child 6 - 16 years sharing with one or two adults pays 50% of the rate. Children 6 - 16 in own room (maximum 4 children per room) : 1st child : full adult rate.
