Access to the Timbavati Nature Reserve via the gate
Enkhulu Gate is the only entry gate into the Timbavati Nature Reserve. Argyle Road is the access point. There will be a conservation levy of ZAR 230.00 for each guest. Additionally, there is a ZAR 140.00 per vehicle extra fee. These prices could go up or down. At the gate, fees must be paid. The Timbavati Nature Gate is open from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm. Getting to Timbavati via road (Driving)
You may get to Timbavati from Johannesburg (approximately a six and a half-hour trip) on a well paved road. It is possible to drive a regular 2 x 4 vehicle on the final eight kilometres of gravel road into the Timbavati Reserve. Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS) is located rather close to the Timbavati entrance gate. Turn off at the Eastgate marker and continue on the R40 between Hazyview and Phalaborwa until you reach the Timbavati Reserve sign.
